Research

The Mountain Sports Research Center designs, develops, and promotes both basic and applied research initiatives, with a primary focus on human well-being and performance optimization.

Research areas

Our primary fields of investigation include the physiology of muscle contraction and the neuromuscular system. We analyze metabolic and cardiorespiratory adaptations in response to exercise or prolonged disuse across diverse populations, including: The elderly, Elite and amateur athletes, Individuals with obesity, cardiovascular diseases, or diabetes.

Collaborations

The research group is actively engaged in national and international scientific projects, partnering with prestigious academic institutions and research bodies. These collaborations facilitate innovative studies in the sectors of physiology, biomechanics, and exercise sciences, with direct applications in both competitive sports and public health promotion

Research Projects

Ongoing research projects aim to advance scientific knowledge within the field of sports and exercise sciences. By utilizing a rigorous multidisciplinary approach, the Center strives to develop innovative evidence-based strategies for health and performance.
